Meridian International Center, a contractor to the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), is seeking an Industry Specialist for the prospective program - Regional Asia – Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technologies RTM Series. The program aims to familiarize delegates from four different countries – Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and India with nuclear energy technology advancements including small modular reactors (“SMRs”), micro-modular reactors (“MMRs”), and related civil nuclear energy solutions, and support the adoption of international best practices and technologies related to the deployment of advanced civil nuclear reactor technologies, including SMRs and MMRs.
The program between three distinct RTMs (one for India, one for Vietnam and Thailand, and one for Malaysia). Each RTM will span up to ten business days, visit up to three U.S. cities, and include business briefings, roundtables, meetings with U.S. public and private sector representatives, and site visits. The RTMs will likely visit Washington, D.C. and two additional U.S. cities to meet with policymakers, regulators, and U.S. companies. Other potential cities, where U.S. nuclear companies and research institutions are based, include, but are not limited to, Idaho Falls, ID (Idaho National Laboratory); Knoxville, TN (Oak Ridge National Laboratory); Austin, TX; Silicon Valley, CA; Los Angeles, CA; and/or Pittsburgh, PA.
