This discussion, followed by a luncheon to honor Military and Defense Attachés, will feature The Honorable Jessica Lewis, Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs and will be moderated by Missy Ryan, Reporter at The Washington Post. Assistant Secretary Lewis will discuss U.S. security assistance priorities and efforts to promote security sector governance in rapidly a changing world. Lewis will address the U.S. response to Russia’s unlawful invasion of Ukraine. She will also touch upon the evolving threats in the Indo-Pacific and U.S. security cooperation and security assistance efforts in the region including the Quad and AUKUS partnership, as signals of the U.S.’ deep engagement and joint commitment to ensure peace, security, and stability. The discussion and Zoom Webinar will commence at 11:00 AM and will be followed by a luncheon.
