The United States and Canada share a commitment to promoting security, prosperity, and democratic governance in and across the Western Hemisphere. As both neighbors and trading partners, the U.S.-Canada relationship will experience a new set of changes as President-Elect Trump assumes the presidency in 2025.
President Trumps’ promise to impose tariffs of 25 percent on all imports from Canada and Mexico will certainly serve as a big inflection point, especially with USMCA up for reauthorization in 2025. Ambassador Hillman will join us at Meridian to provide her perspective on the state of the bilateral economic relationship.
