The Meridian Center for Cultural Diplomacy is pleased to host Do Museums Matter? on July 9, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. EDT. Moderator Heidi Zuckerman, Founder of HiZ.art and former CEO & Director of the Aspen Art Museum, will lead this important and timely discussion with panelists: Kaywin Feldman, Director of the National Gallery of Art; Chong Siak Ching, CEO of the National Gallery of Singapore; and Franklin Sirmans, Director of the Perez Art Museum Miami.
This discussion will explore the important role museums play in our communities and what the world stands to lose if museums did not exist in a post-COVID landscape. The program will also address the innovative approaches that museums are undertaking around the world to engage their audiences and sustain activities during the pandemic while developing new methods of energizing their donor base and relevant stakeholders. Special attention will also be given to the role of museums in promoting diversity, cross-cultural education and the tangible efforts in providing an inclusive environment within their respective communities.
