Tuesday, March 24, 2026

As part of Meridian International Center’s Diplomacy at 250 series—a year‑long slate of programs marking the United States’ 250th anniversary and the global partnerships that have shaped our nation—we are proud to present, "A Canvas of Connection: Advancing Japan-U.S. People-to-People Ties" on Tuesday, March 24. Bringing together leaders across diplomacy, culture, and design, the program, presented in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in the United States, will explore how art, architecture, and creative exchange are shaping the future of public diplomacy and deepening mutual understanding between nations.

A panel discussion will follow the keynote conversation, featuring H.E. Shigeo Yamada, Ambassador William GraysonFrank Feltens of the National Museum of Asian Art, and architect Trey Trahan, whose work on the U.S. Pavilion in Osaka reflects the intersection of design and diplomacy.
