Strengthening civic engagement and democratic governance depends on practical, locally driven solutions. Meridian International Center, in partnership with the Federation for Innovation in Democracy (FIDE)–North America, will host Civic Engagement and Democracy: A Reception on State and Local Solutions, a discussion focused on state and local approaches in the United States and abroad to strengthen civic engagement, improve government effectiveness, and support bipartisan dialogue.
The reception will convene senior state and local officials, democracy practitioners, and experts to exchange perspectives on how civic engagement tools—including citizens’ assemblies—can help inform policymaking and governance.
