On April 17, Meridian International Center will convene a roundtable focused on the future of AI ecosystems across Africa. Bringing together regional voices, policymakers, and technical experts, the discussion will explore how AI can be leveraged to develop locally rooted solutions to pressing economic and social challenges.

Across the continent, AI applications in healthcare, agriculture, climate monitoring, and financial services are already demonstrating the potential to leapfrog legacy systems. At the same time, structural barriers—including gaps in infrastructure, limited access to computing power, and ongoing talent migration—continue to constrain growth.

This roundtable will examine how governments, startups, and research institutions are navigating these challenges, while identifying actionable pathways to strengthen and scale AI ecosystems across the region.
