Leading the Way: Opportunity for Women and Girls

On September 15, Meridian International Center, in cooperation with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and Independent Television Service (ITVS), will host a dinner program to celebrate the launch of Meridian’s Council on Women’s Leadership. The focus of the evening is to raise awareness about the role of women and girls around the world, with a particular emphasis on women as leaders and agents of change.

A special preview of the forthcoming ITVS global public media campaign, Women and Girls Lead, which includes 50 powerful documentaries, will kick off the program. The dynamic conversation to follow will highlight the societal transformation that is possible when women have a seat at the table: in politics, governments, corporations, and communities.

The evening’s goal is not only to discuss relevant policy issues, but to inspire action. Join us in a dialogue about empowering women and girls everywhere with opportunities for leadership, whether in their schools and families, or in boardrooms and political arenas.
