Implementation and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights

  • To explore the roles and work of government agencies, private sector enterprises, and NGOs dealing with IPR issues, and the effective interaction of these entities;
  • To learn about policies, procedures, and their effective implementation to identify and combat IPR violations;
  • To examine key types of intellectual property rights in the U.S., including patent law, trademarks, service marks, and copyright laws;
  • To gain an understanding of the relationship between IPR; and
  • To gain insight into how to educate citizens to the societal cost of the manufacture and distribution of illegally copied materials and create public awareness of IPR issues.
