Energy Security and Renewable Energy in the Western Hemisphere

• Examine the current state of energy supplies, production, and demand, as well as the challenges in meeting present and future energy needs in the Western Hemisphere;
• Review U.S. national energy policy and approaches to securing energy resources, including efforts to expand and diversify energy supply, increase investment in research and technology, and strengthen international cooperation; and
• Explore the U.S. experience in diversifying and expanding energy sources and promoting affordable, clean, and efficient energy from traditional, alternative, and renewable sources.
