Border Security: Trans Boundary Cooperative Efforts

  • Illustrate cooperative efforts among government stakeholders to combat extremist activities – Departments of State, Treasury, Justice, Commerce;
  • Examine domestic law enforcement efforts with local community leaders to stop the flow of foreign terrorist fighters to Syria/Iraq;
  • Discuss efforts to cut off terrorism-financing, to counter cultural heritage destruction and trafficking in antiquities, and to combat trafficking in persons;
  • Discuss high tech and social media applications to the challenge of foreign fighters; and
  • Examine best practices using case studies from U.S. law enforcement and other coalition partners.
