Nisreen Eid is a project management consultant to the public finance and management administration reform. Nisreen has more than 20 years of experience in economic and institutional development, operations enhancement, inclusion, and capacity building. She has managed complex projects and programs with multiple stakeholders, including projects that touched on government policy development, the industrial sector, SME development, human rights and inclusion, and women’s empowerment. She successfully completed a project to implement the roadmap and strategy of the capital market in Jordan, with 113 action items that are required to be executed by three different entities (Amman Stock Exchange, Jordan Securities Commission, Securities Depository Center) in partnership with eight governmental and private sector stakeholders and more than nine consulting firms specialized in institutional development. She also previously worked as an operations director at the office of Her Majesty Queen Rania.
The project builds the capacity of Jordanian women entrepreneurs to become more economically independent, capitalizing on the newly issued regulation that legalizes initiating business and running them from home. The project targets newly licensed businesses from home and builds their capacity in costing, operations, tax filing, business development and expansion. Project activities will build the financial literacy needed to sustain and grow any business. Participants will develop a clear and documented process and financial papers, along with business plan for the next three years.
Nisreen Eid participated in the IVLP Project Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development, organized by the U.S. Department of State and FHI 360, in partnership with GlobalPittsburgh, WorldDenver, and the New York Program Branch.
Nisreen Eid’s exchange experience led to the development of her project: "During my visit to the U.S., we were exposed to several economic development ideas from mega projects and real estate development that are worth millions of dollars to micro- and small businesses with creative ideas that require incubation and guidance to grow. In my initiative, I believe I will benefit from the ideas and methodologies discussed with Mr. Mike Matestic, who manages an organization called Idea Founder. He is in constant search for unique ideas all over the world in the health, food, agricultural and environment sectors. He builds their capacity and gives them access to markets and R&D.”
