The Stilwell Road, originally called the Ledo Road (Zhong Yin Gonglu), was a World War II supply route from India to China that replaced the Burma Road (Dian Mian Gonglu). Spanning over 1,700 kilometers, the track was completed within two years after General Joseph Stilwell took responsibility for its construction. The first convoy of 113 vehicles left Ledo on January 12, 1945, and arrived in Kunming on February 4.
