Serving as the “Commissioner General for the Celestial Empire,” Prince Pu Lun attended the opening ceremony of the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis. China was represented by a pavilion designed to resemble an imperial palace. The prince was traveling in the United States with a delegation that included Vice Commissioner Wong Kai Kah, who coordinated the pavilion’s construction and was an alumnus of the Chinese Educational Mission.
