Frederick and Janet Wulsin completed two expeditions to China during the 1920s. The National Geographic Society sponsored their second trip to gather zoological, botanical, and ethnological collections, as well as to document their travels for National Geographic magazine. Led by Wu Tze Pin, the team, which included Harry and Susanne Emery, traveled throughout central China, Tibet, and Inner Mongolia.
