KFC was the first American fast-food chain to launch in the country. For thousands of Chinese families who grew up eating traditional meals, KFC was their first exposure to Western fast food. In the United States KFC is known for its fried chicken, but in China the company dishes up items like deep-fried crullers and pork chops according to local tastes.
