FedEx invested $150 million in China when the Memphis, Tennessee-based company moved its Asian-Pacific headquarters to Guangzhou in 2009. FedEx has invested in China in other ways as well, such as taking on the responsibility for transporting some of the U.S. and China’s most precious shared cargo: pandas. In 2017, FedEx safely flew BaoBao from the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C., to her new home in Sichuan, just as the company had done with BaoBao’s brother and parents in the past.
