During a trip to the U.S. capital from Pennsylvania, Lillian Jane Fulton (second from left) and Harold Lefever (left), along with D.C. resident Marjorie Kendrick, were arrested for picketing in front of the British Embassy. They protested in support of India’s freedom, asking for the release of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru from prison.
