Vice President Richard Nixon and Second Lady Pat Nixon made a goodwill tour of more than ten Asian nations during President Dwight Eisenhower’s first term. The delegation, which included Nixon’s secretary Rose Mary Woods and member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives Christian Archibald Herter Jr., visited Angkor Wat in Cambodia, which sought military aid from the United States.
