American Lee Marvin and Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune, both of whom served in the Pacific during World War II, starred in the action film Hell in the Pacific. The film follows two WWII servicemen who are stranded together on a deserted island and, after several attempts to sabotage one another, realize they must overcome their differences in order to survive.
