The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has worked alongside the Ministry of Public Health in Thailand since 1980 to address major public health challenges in the country. In 2004, CDC established a Global Disease Detection Regional Center to focus on emerging infectious diseases in Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region. In this image, laboratory workers from the Thai National Institute of Health and Chulalongkorn University learn to identify Zika and Chikungunya viruses.
