Madrid, March 22, 2012 - The U.S. Embassy in Spain, the Fundación Rafael del Pino and Meridian International Center will partner to host a Service Innovation Summit in Madrid on March 28-30, 2012. Senior specialists from different sectors and countries will gather to exchange best practices on civic engagement and volunteerism. Leaders in the service field from the corporate, government, and non-profit worlds will work together to explore how volunteerism and community service can address the challenges faced by countries affected by the economic crisis including the United States, and Spain, and other nations. The Summit will showcase proven models and best practices of effective volunteerism, and through trainings, seminars, and networking opportunities, Summit participants will enhance their ability to make a difference in their own sectors. Topics will include engaging new demographics, measuring impact, and harnessing the power of collaboration across sectors. In addition, participants will engage the Spanish community in a blog that celebrates the impact of volunteerism at www.cuentaconmigoespana.es and on Twitter with #CIVMadrid and #CuentaConmigo.
